The Candy House revisits some characters from A Visit from the Goon Squad, introduces others, and spans through lifetimes. I bought a paperback copy of the Pulitzer winner, put it in my bookcase, and let it ferment until the day came that I needed it…and when that day came I was so grateful for it. ![]() I’d been introduced to various chapters of A Visit from the Goon Squad at the Ohio State University in 2014, and didn’t glance back until a peer told me it was his favorite novel. Hesitancy kept me from Jennifer Egan’s work for far too long. ![]()
